Conference «Pervasive Powers: Corporate Authority in the Shaping of Public Policy» (Paris, 14-15 June 2018)

We invite submission of abstracts for the International Conference «Pervasive Powers: Corporate Authority in the Shaping of  Public Policy». The Conference will be held at Paris Dauphine University (Paris, France), June, 14&15 2018.

The Conference is organized as part of two research programmes Regulrisks (“Regulation of sanitary risks, economic stakes and industrial innovations”) and Propublics (“Revisiting public problems and controversies: the “Problem-Centred Democracy” in question(s)), both funded by the Paris Sciences et Lettres Foundation.

By bringing together scholars from various backgrounds within the fields of history, sociology, and political science, the Conference intend to provide new insights on the multiplicity, depth and limits of the forms of influence that corporations, or the organizations furthering their interests – business associations, think tanks, communication or public relations agencies, foundations, etc. –, may have had and have on public policy.

Full Call for Papers may be be found on the Conference website.

Abstracts should be 300-400 words in length, and offer a description of methods and data used. They should be submitted through the Conference website before October 31th in the latest.

Notifications of acceptance will be sent before the end of October. If your abstract is accepted,  a pre-circulated paper (about 5000 words) will be requested before May 15th 2018. Pre-circulated papers will be disseminated only to the speakers and discussants.

For any enquiries, please contact: pervasivepowers.conference@gmail.com

The abstracts, the papers and the oral presentations the day of the conference will be in English.

Travel expenses may be covered, in accordance with the budget of the conference.
